I am a big fan of Top Chef on Bravo TV. This season one of my favorite chefs is Carla, a chef from Nashville who lives in Washington, DC. Carla has huge expressive eyes, is very animated and has a big quirky personality. She is a talented chef who sometimes makes bad decisions with her recipes.
Carla has been in the bottom three several times and managed to escape elimination. But last night Carla finally won a challenge. Not only a challenge but the Super Bowl Chef Showdown. Go Carla! Her prize (drum roll please) – tickets to the Super Bowl. How appropriate. Usually the chefs win something cooking related like a signed cook book from a famous visiting chef, a great set of cooking utensils or a complete kitchen.
At first I thought Carla was robbed because of the other prizes that chefs have won. But after I thought about it, Carla won something that is hard to get and probably considered a luxury item. A chef will always buy cooking items but Super Bowl Tickets might not be in the budget and could be a stretch.
Anyway, I’m just glad I was able to stay awake for the entire episode. Here lately, I’ve been falling asleep during the elimination challenge.
