In a previous post I mentioned that I started reading J. D. Robb’s In Death Series about two years ago. Unfortunately, I started near the latter part of the series. My goal this year was to go back to the beginning to see how the series started and how relationships between the characters developed.
Last week, I finished reading Immortal In Death. My daughter was kind enough to buy it and Vengeance In Death for me. If you’re like me and did not start at the beginning of the series, you might want to read about the week or so before Dallas and Roark’s wedding. The wedding, of course, is the back story.
The Main Story
The main story begins with the homicide of a well-known model. But what makes this book a little different is that the primary suspect in the murder is Dallas’ best friend, Mavis. The timing of this case couldn’t have been worse because it takes place just a few weeks before Dallas’ planned nuptials. So between bridal gown fittings, selecting flowers for the wedding and wedding plans in general, Dallas has to prove that her friend is innocent.
Revelations
- The history behind Roark and Summerset
- An introduction to the only person Dallas fears – Trina
- Eve’s measurements
- Dallas has a major breakthrough pertaining to her past
- The beginning of Peabody and Dallas’ relationship
Even though Eve is under a tremendous amount of pressure, she still operates by the book; even when one of her discoveries could cause her to lose her job as a police officer.
Another good read by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts.
