Oh get real. Is Andrew Card looking for something to raise his blood pressure? What a waste of stress. Since when is wearing a shirt and tie disrespectful? It’s not as though the staff is wearing sweat pants and Bermuda shorts.
What else is on Mr. Card’s list of disrespectful White House attire. Is there a certain color tie that must be worn – plain, stripes, dots, paisleys? Are white shirts mandatory or is a little color ok? How about suits – black, navy, gray? Is a brown suit acceptable? Single or double breasted? What about shoes – wing tips or square toes, loafers or shoe laces?
What do women wear in the White House? Do they have to wear suits? Is that a suit with a skirt or are pant suits acceptable? Can the jacket be a waist coat or should it be hip length? Pumps or flats? Are strappy sandals and stilettos out of the question?
This is a little ridiculous and that’s my point. There’s a new administration in town and they have relaxed the dress code. Let it go Mr. Card, you’re not the Chief of Staff anymore!
